Call for nominations to the uOttawa Alumni Association Board of Directors
Your alma mater is looking for a dynamic alumna or alumnus to join the Board of Directors of our Alumni Association. As a board member, you will provide leadership and expertise, to support the association’s mandate, engage with alumni across the country and reconnect with the University community. We welcome nominations from alumni regardless of where they live.
The ideal candidate will add to the diversity of faculties represented on the board. Experience in serving on boards, past participation in the University of Ottawa events and bilingualism (at least functional) are also considered assets.
If you would like to submit your name or nominate a fellow alumnus or alumna, email your resumé, along with a cover letter, to the president at alumni.president@uOttawa.ca.

Who we are:
The Board of Directors is made up of 16 alumni representing various regions across Canada. Board members go through a rigorous selection process and are appointed for a two year term.
We are committed volunteers from a wide variety of professions. We bring forward innovative ideas to help organize, finance and support various activities and services for all alumni through our work within the Board committees (Executive, Governance, Outreach and Finance).
Alumni are our number one priority; we help them stay engaged with the University of Ottawa, enrich their career path, help them connect with other alumni wherever they may be in the world!
The Association also helps promote and support the University as an internationally renowned, bilingual center of academic excellence as well as enhances awareness of the University locally, nationally and globally.
What we do:
The University of Ottawa Alumni Association is the main sponsor of alumni regional events, which take place in 12 regions each year.
In addition, the Association supports and participates in many events in Ottawa, from lectures and panels to practical workshops and the annual Etiquette Dinner for students and young alumni.
Through our different partnerships, our members get preferred rates on a number of products. All of our members can contact us to receive their alumni card, which gives them access to the library, as well as discounts on campus services.
The Alumni Association also recognizes exceptional alumni through our annual Awards of Excellence.
The Association also encourages the success of current students by financing two generous annual scholarships, which are among the largest undergraduate scholarships:
Alumni Association Leadership bursary ($5,000 annually)
This scholarship recognizes an undergraduate student whose work and commitment provide an exceptionally good reflection of the University of Ottawa's objectives. See eligibility and application details.
Arcade Guindon bursary ($5,000 annually)
This award recognizes the special merit of an undergraduate student whose commitment to volunteer work reflects the objectives of the University of Ottawa as set out in its mandate. This scholarship aims to promote intellectual, physical and social development. See eligibility and application details.
