The fourth annual gala of the Faculty of Medicine, Abracadabra: A Night of Magic and Medicine, will celebrate imagination and discovery. The community is invited to join clinicians, researchers and students for a magical evening on September 24, at the Shaw Centre.
This year’s event is inspired by the art and surrealism of painter Salvador Dali, which will be present in everything from the roving entertainment to the menu personally curated by renowned chef Geoffrey Morden. Featured entertainer is Juno Award-winning Canadian electropop sensation Dragonette.
The gala will also display the “magic” of the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute (uOBMRI). The uOBMRI is Ottawa’s largest collective of basic science researchers and clinician scientists focused on brain and mind-related health. The uOBMRI orchestrates research in a collaborative and innovative fashion, coordinating research efforts of its members in uOttawa’s faculties and affiliated hospitals, research institutes and networks.
