Important academic dates and deadlines 2016-2017

The following important dates and deadlines apply to the entire student population, whether you are studying at the  graduate or postdoctoral level. Dates may vary for certain programs (Education, Common LawCivil Law, Engineering, Medicine, MBA, Health Sciences, etc.) and for work terms. Please check with the academic unit concerned and refer to the CO-OP website for work-term deadlines. Consult the calendars below to find out more about their important dates and deadlines.

March 31, 2017 is the last day to enrol for a degree for Spring 2017 Convocation

Fall term 2016
First day to enroll (graduate students) June 22
Last day to enroll for clinical placements (Faculty of Health Sciences) June 30
First day to enroll (special students) August 24
Last day to enroll September 22
Last day to change student status (regular/auditor) September 22
Last day to request leave of absence (graduate students) September 29
Last day to change course selection September 22
Last day for graduate students to change student status (part-time/full-time) September 29
Last day to withdraw from a course or an activity and receive a financial credit, less administrative fees. Withdrawing from a course may affect whether you  meet all your program requirements. Be sure to consider all changes very carefully before going ahead. Dates may differ for some faculties and programs, so please confirm date with your academic unit. September 30
Last day to withdraw from a course or an activity with no financial credit. Withdrawing from a course may affect whether you meet all your program requirements. Be sure to consider all changes very carefully before going ahead. Course withdrawal is not possible after this date. If you simply stop attending a course and do not withdraw, you will receive a failing grade. November 18
Last day for French immersion students to indicate courses to be evaluated with “Satisfactory/Not satisfactory” grades. November 18

Reports, major research papers, and theses

No reading week in the Faculty of Medicine MD Program. Some exceptions apply at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
