Our Mission is to maintain and improve the health of the University of Ottawa and our surrounding community by providing a patient-centered, interdisciplinary health care team which delivers prevention, early identification, treatment, care, and support for acute and chronic disease management in an environment that is open and transparent to social, ethnic, or income factors.
Our Vision
Our Vision is to create an effective and dynamic environment in which staff, physicians and allied health professionals work together in a professionally rewarding and sustainable medical practice that delivers high quality, integrated primary care to all segments of our community. In other words, University of Ottawa Health Services (UOHS) is a service of the University of Ottawa, serving the health needs of the University community while, at the same time, providing clinical services access to the general population.
Dr. Don Kilby has been the Medical Director of Health Services since 1988. In 1990 he oversaw the semi-privatization (open to public) of the clinic and its transition to our present location. Over the ensuing years, UOHS has grown to become a dynamic healthcare provider serving 80,000 patients per year and operating a vibrant, innovative health promotion program.
We are proud of the comprehensive range of services we offer to University of Ottawa students, faculty, staff and the general public. Health Services’ staff consists of over 70 full- and part-time employees as well as close to 40 healthcare professionals, offering care in the areas of Family Medicine, Specialty Medicine, Physiotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychology and other services. We see, on average, 300 patients a day and receive 80 patient calls per hour.
