The Health Promotion Resource Centre (RC) is the information hub for the University of Ottawa Health Services (UOHS) on campus. The RC is located on the 2nd floor of the University Centre (UCU 203), and is easily found by the red door, plants in the window and comfy red chairs.
The RC is a place to stop by, read up on health information, ask health questions, and seek out support or assistance. If we can’t answer your question, we will help you find someone who can.
The RC is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Come in to talk about whatever health topic interests you!
We offer information on a wide range of health topics – including the ones covered by our 7 Peer Educator health teams – from nutrition and recipes, to global health and HIV. We have a wealth of educational brochures and resources, a Multimedia Library with great books and DVDs you can borrow ($20 deposit required), and free condoms, Band-Aids and other healthy stuff. The RC also offers access to a Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Lamp, Rapid Anonymous HIV Testing, and free yoga classes.
We are available Monday-Friday to provide information, discuss health topics that are important to you and direct you to UOHS, campus and community resources, agencies and organizations. To reach us, contact the Resource Centre at 613-562-5800 ext. 2941, or by email at promo@uohs.uottawa.ca.
