Going on a trip?
UOHS is pleased to offer a travel clinic to help you minimize the health risks of international travel for you and your loved ones. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure it is important to remember that diseases rarely found in Canada are common in other parts of the world.
Plan ahead
- Seek advice as soon as possible before traveling because it can take some time for certain vaccines to take effect.
- We recommend that you book your consultation with a travel medicine specialist 6-8 weeks before your trip.
Your travel visit
- Your visit with our travel medicine specialist will include a health risk review of your travel itinerary, personalized travel health information, travel prescriptions and all required immunizations.
- Our consultation services are available in French, English and Spanish.
Vaccines
- You will receive your vaccinations on the same day. There is a fee for each vaccine so please review the information regarding travel visit fees ahead of time so you are prepared.
- You may need to return to the clinic for booster shots or any vaccines that were not given at your first visit. You can come to the walk-in clinic at your convenience to see the nurse for these vaccines.
- Our clinic offers all required vaccines including yellow fever.
