A Living Learning Community (LLC) is a dedicated space in residence where residents are grouped according to their interest in a particular area. Programming for LLCs focuses on these areas of interest, and offers enhanced opportunities for connection and development beyond the classroom.

Are you studying science, technology, engineering, or math? Being a part of the STEM community located at the Henderson Residence, means that you’ll not only get support from upper-year academic mentors, but you’ll also get to participate in specialized study groups, workshops on study skills (such as time-management, report writing, and stress reduction), learn about internships and career opportunities, and even interact with professors outside of the classroom. All this, in the comfort of your own residence and just a stone throws away from your classes.

Are you interested in living in a unique community bringing together students from around the world?  Residents living on these floors are both Canadian and international students who are interested in developing intercultural communication skills while having an enriching student experience in residence. This community offers specialized programming and support services such as, workshops on varies themes, guest speakers and socio-cultural activities. By choosing this living learning community located in the Marchand Residence, you will build your personal and professional network, acquire new skills and develop employability skills that are applicable worldwide.

Are you someone who is looking to make a difference in the community, and gain leadership skills by volunteering? This Living Learning Community brings together like minded individuals with a particular interest in promoting positive change through community engagement. You will have many opportunities to volunteer with children at an elementary school, help promote health initiatives at a local Community Health Centre, and advocate for social issues that you personally feel passionate about. Friel Residence offers just that kind of learning experience through service learning, leadership and advocacy.
