Excellence in media relations award

Call for Nominations

The University of Ottawa invites nominations for the Excellence in Media Relations Award. This annual award recognizes two University faculty or support staff members (one Francophone, one Anglophone) who have demonstrated outstanding service to the University by sharing his or her expertise with the larger community through the media. The award comes with a $5,000 prize.

Nomination and Selection of Recipients

University of Ottawa staff, students, faculty, alumni, and members of the general community are invited to nominate candidates for the Excellence in Media Relations Award using the official nomination form. Individuals should describe the candidate's contribution and clearly explain how this individual serves the University through media relations. Documents such as biographical notes, curriculum vitae and letters of reference may also be included in the file. It is strongly recommended that nominations include examples of media coverage generated within the last year (maximum of 10 entries including print, audio or video). It is possible to request a report of the candidate's media activity through the Media Relations team as a means of reinforcing a candidate's nomination.

The nominations should be sent to the President's Office and will be reviewed by a selection committee to determine award winners. Recipients will receive the award and the $5,000 prize during the Reception in celebration of excellence in education and research held in the fall.
