International Law Speakers Series Lecture

The Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa, invites Mark Drumbl who will present a lecture titled “Always Innocent? Child Soldiers, Justice, and the International Legal Imagination”. Mr. Drumbl is professor at the Washington & Lee University, School of Law, where he also serves as Director of the University’s Transnational Law Institute. His research and teaching interests include public international law, global environmental governance, international criminal law, prostconflict justice, transnational legal process, and contracts. MITACS Seminar Series in Information and Communication Technology and the Institute of Women's Studies of the University of Ottawa will be presenting a conference titled “Bombshells, Criminals, Mothers, and More: Examining Brazilian Gender Ideologies in the Context of Canadian Migration Studies” given by Dr. Katherine Brasch. During her stay in Canada as the 2009-2010 Bank of Montreal Visiting Scholar in Women's Studies, Dr. Brasch is expanding her research on ideologies of gender, motherhood and family to better understand their role on migration and integration.
