Insects and froggies and fish, oh my! University professors and students explore fascinating world of biology research

OTTAWA, April 13, 2010  —  The Ottawa Carleton Institute for Biology’s 7th symposium, titled Biology in the Media: Fascinating Science on the Front Page, is taking place today and tomorrow at the Alumni Auditorium. The event will explore how scientific research is communicated to the media and, in turn, to the public.

Keynote speakers include Kathryn O’Hara of Carleton University; Dr. Ryan Gregory of the University of Guelph; Dr. Sarah Childs of the University of Calgary; and Tim Lougheed of the Scientific Writers Association of Canada.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, April 14), undergraduate and graduate biology students from Carleton University and the University of Ottawa will showcase their work at the 9th annual Research Day. More information is available on the OCIB Website.

The event alternates each year between Carleton and uOttawa.
