26th Conference on the Mathematical Foundations of Programming Semantics

MFPS conferences are devoted to the areas of mathematics, logic and computer science that are related to models of computation, in general and to the semantics of programming languages, in particular. There will be a forum where researchers can meet and exchange.Conference registration is $160 (Canadian) per person and $100 for students. Reinventing CIDA

Launch of a new report by Barry Carin and Gordon Smith, Centre for Global Studies, University of Victoria on the question: What is the future of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Canada's development policies? The authors call for changes to CIDA and new approaches to Canadian development assistance that would focus on providing incentives to, and encouraging greater competition among, organizations delivering development assistance. The event is free. Registration is not required. The presentation of the report will be in English and the following discussion period in English and French. Feminist Legal Activism at Fifty - Critical Reflections

Shirley E. Greenberg Chair in Women and the Legal Profession will sponsor a symposium to mark the fiftieth anniversary in Canadian feminist legal history. Two dozen Canadian feminists will reflect on processes, political formations, mobilizing strategies, what ideas, reforms and jurisprudential building blocks, pedagogies, models of leadership and of feminism and lessons from past failures. The registration fee is $15 for students and $30 for general admission.
