OTTAWA, May 20, 2010  —  A team of researchers from the University of Ottawa, led by Professor Elizabeth Kristjansson from the School of Psychology and the Institute of Population Health, yesterday won the Community Builder of the Year Award from United way in the category Speak Up.

In their Ottawa Neighborhood Study, Professor Kristjansson and her team analyzed the link between the density of fast food outlets in the city’s neighborhoods and the level of obesity and body mass index in those areas.
