OTTAWA, June 7, 2010  —  Dr. Eve Tsai, assistant professor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, is among this year’s Canada’s Top 40 Under 40^TM.

Dr. Tsai, also a neurosurgeon at The Ottawa Hospital and an associate scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), develops new approaches to spinal cord repair. She has also developed a novel MRI technique that allows surgeons to easily visualize spinal cord nerve fibres and identify those that are healthy and those that are disrupted. This has led to the Ottawa Hospital being the first institution in the world to apply this technique clinically. The University of Ottawa is proud to see Dr. Tsai’s outstanding achievements recognized by the community.
