Professor Azzedine Boukerche inducted into the Canadian Academy of Engineering

OTTAWA, June 9, 2010  —  Azzedine Boukerche, professor at the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), was elected as Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering – a membership exclusive to exemplary individuals in the profession of engineering.

The research done by Professor Boukerche’s, Canada Research Chair in Large-Scale Distributed Interactive Simulations and Mobile Computing and Networking, has earned him an international reputation in the field of distributed interactive simulation systems. His contributions have been fundamental in evaluating the performance of complex distributed communication networks that can be used for applications such as video entertainment, multimedia Internet access and Internet-based collaborative environments.

The Canadian Academy of Engineering was founded in 1987 and is an active member of the Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), an international federation of academies from 26 countries. The Canadian Academy of Engineering’s membership boasts the country’s most distinguished and experienced engineers.
