Webcast: Can Environmental Regulation Enhance Innovation and Competitiveness?

OTTAWA, June 25, 2010  —  Sustainable Prosperity − a uOttawa-based national policy and research network chaired by Professor Stewart Elgie from the Faculty of Law −, in collaboration with Resources for the Future, is organizing a one-day symposium in Montreal entitled “The Porter Hypothesis at 20: How Can Environmental Regulation Enhance Innovation and Competitiveness?” The event will take place on Monday, June 28, 2010.

From 12 to 2 p.m., the community is invited to watch a Webcast of a lecture that will be delivered by top global competitiveness expert Michael Porter of Harvard, followed by a panel of experts including Daniel Esty (Yale University), Bernard Sinclair-Degagné (HEC Montréal), Mikeal Skou-Anderssen (European Environment Agency) and chaired by Cassie Doyle, Deputy Minister, Natural Resources Canada.

In Montreal, the event will take place from 12 to 2 p.m., in the Ballroom at the McGill Faculty Club, located at 3450 McTavish Street. Cost of luncheon taking place during the lecture is $60 and seats are limited.
