101 Week: uOttawa students join hands to fight cystic fibrosis

OTTAWA, September 4, 2010  —  Tuesday morning, scores of uOttawa students from all faculties joined hands to help fight cystic fibrosis as they take part in the 2010 Shinerama campaign.

Taking place across the city, Shinerama 2010 brings over 2,000 uOttawa students to every corner of downtown Ottawa to raise money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Participants raise funds through original activities such as shining shoes and cars as well as selling raffle tickets, hot dogs and burgers. The University of Ottawa encourages the citizens of Ottawa to give generously.

Shinerama, one of the largest student philanthropic endeavours on Canadian campuses, raises funds through student participation for the fight against cystic fibrosis (CF), the most common fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians.
