University of Ottawa to welcome Roméo Dallaire for first “Makers of Canada” lecture during Homecoming
OTTAWA, September 22, 2010 — Senator Roméo Dallaire will deliver the inaugural “Makers of Canada” lecture organized by the University of Ottawa’s Department of History at the Faculty of Arts, during Homecoming, this Friday.
Before the 20-minute bilingual lecture, more than 20 history alumni will recount their experiences on film as the Department unveils a new video feature for its website.
The Department of History will also be presenting new awards at the event: the Coupes en histoire will honour students and alumni who have made outstanding contributions to the field of history, while special prizes will be given for the best master's thesis and memoire produced during the past academic year.
