The University of Ottawa, the APCM, and Rogers TV Ottawa launch Coups francs
OTTAWA, September 24, 2010 — The French Programming sector of the University of Ottawa’s Community Life Service, in collaboration with the Association des professionnels de la chanson et de la musique (APCM), and Rogers TV Ottawa, presents the talk show Coups francs. This new six-show series brings together Franco-Ontarian public figures and artists, as well as students and professors from the University of Ottawa, to discuss issues that affect the Franco-Ontarian community.
This ambitious project’s first show will be broadcast tonight, Friday, September 2010, at 8 p.m. on Rogers cable 23, for viewers on the Ottawa side of the river.
Hosted by Hugues Beaudoin-Dumouchel, the first show will feature guests Linda Lauzon, Interim Executive Director of the Assemblée de la francophonie de l'Ontario; Andréanne Germain, a young Franco-Ontarian documentary maker; Cindy Doire, an artist and member of the ACPM; Alain Vachon, member of the executive committee for the Monument de la Francophonie at Montfort Hospital; and Michel Prévost, the University of Ottawa’s Chief Archivist.
Hugues Beaudoin-Dumouchel is an alumnus of the University of Ottawa in Communications and Theatre. Perfectly bilingual, Hughes has a passion for the stage. Over the years, he has mastered the art of hosting by accepting MC contracts for many cultural events, including the launch of the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie, the Trille Or Awards finalists gala, the Festival Zones Théâtrales opening and the Salon du livre de l’Outaouais, for which he is the regular host. This semester, Hughes is back as a University of Ottawa student, in the School of Translation and Interpretation. Hosting Coups francs is his first foray into television.
The second episode of Coups francs will be taped in the Agora of the Jock Turcot University Centre on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. For more information or to be in the audience, please e-mail programf@uottawa.ca.
