World-renowned Parkinson’s expert joins University of Ottawa and OHRI
OTTAWA, October 12, 2010 — The University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) are proud to welcome Dr. Tohru Kitada, an internationally recognized authority in Parkinson’s disease research from Harvard University in Boston. Dr. Kitada is known around the world for discovering the parkin gene, which is associated with an early-onset form of Parkinson’s. He will work closely with Dr. Michael Schlossmacher to investigate “therapeutic targets” that may form the basis for truly effective new therapies.
