Lecture: “Getting it Right in Remote Canada: Using Health Administrative Date in the Circumpolar North”
Dr. Paul Peters, Technical Specialist, Health Analysis Division, Statistics Canada

This presentation, given in English only, is offered by the Telfer School of Management. Dr. Paul Peters will examine how a geographic approach to analyzing administrative data can provide the ability to calculate a wide range of population health indicators for the remote circumpolar north. The speaker will also highlight the challenges of using data in this context for research and policy formation. Lecture: “The Longest War: A Journalist’s Front-Line Assessment of America’s Entanglement in Afghanistan”
Rajiv Chandrasekaran, Senior Correspondant and Associate Editor for The Washington Post

A lecture titled “The Longest War: A Journalist’s Front-Line Assessment of America’s Entanglement in Afghanistan” will be given by Rajiv Chandrasekaran whose reporting focuses on the war in Afghanistan, where he travels often to interview Afghans and Americans involved in counterinsurgency operations. This event, presented in English only, is organized by the Centre of International Policy Studies (CIPS) and the Canadian International Council, National Capital Branch. Lecture: The National Capital Region, an Ideal Environment for Teaching?
Louise Boucher, professor with the Department of Geography
