Three Faculty of Arts professors shortlisted for prize honouring best scholarly books in Canada

OTTAWA, March 4, 2011  —  The University of Ottawa is very proud to announce that three of its professors are among the four finalists selected for the Canada Prize in the Social Sciences (in French). The Canada Prize honours the best scholarly books in Canada.

Emma Anderson is an associate professor in the Department of Classics and Religious Studies. She has been nominated for her book La trahison de la foi, published by the Presses de l'Université Laval.

Peter Bischoff is an associate professor in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts. He has been nominated for his book Les débardeurs au port de Québec : tableau des luttes syndicales, 1831-1902, published by HMH Hurtubise.

Lucie Joubert is a full-time professor in the Département de français at the Faculty of Arts. She has been nominated for her book Écouter la chanson, published by Éditions Fides.

The winners will be announced on March 26, 2011, at the First Annual Conference of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
