OTTAWA, March 15, 2011  —  The University of Ottawa and its entire community are deeply saddened by the tragic and unimaginable loss of life suffered in the earthquake and tsunami that have devastated Japan.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the people of Japan, to our Japanese students and to the broader Japanese community of Ottawa during this difficult time.

As the nation of Japan struggles to unearth survivors and as the scope of the catastrophe comes into focus, we wish the country and its people every success in their efforts to recover and rebuild.

Everyone is invited to support the recovery effort by leaving a donation in the boxes to be distributed shortly campus-wide.
