New Canada Research Chairs confirm University of Ottawa research vitality

OTTAWA, March 28, 2011  —  The federal government has increased the number of Canada Research Chairs (CRCs) at the University of Ottawa, recognizing the University’s strength and vitality as one of the country’s top research institutions.

The increase in Chairs, which is accompanied by $1.9 million in additional funds, is the result of the government’s bi-annual review of distribution of its 2000 CRCs. An institution’s number of Chairs may increase, decrease or stay the same.
