uOttawa marks partnership with UNESCO and Michaëlle Jean Foundation

OTTAWA, April 7, 2011  —  MEDIA ADVISORY - The President of the University of Ottawa, Allan Rock, invites the media to a reception attended by the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, UNESCO Special Envoy for Haiti and Co-President of the Michaëlle Jean Foundation (FMJF), and Jean-Daniel Lafond, Co-President and CEO of the FMJF, to mark the partnership established between the University of Ottawa, UNESCO and the FMJF.

WHAT: Reception to mark the partnership between uOttawa, UNESCO and the FMJF

WHEN: Friday, April 8, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The partnership reflects the University of Ottawa’s desire to educate committed citizens here and abroad. It will allow students to take part in FMJF initiatives to encourage civic engagement through arts and culture. As for UNESCO’s mission, it is consistent with the University’s strategy of opening itself to the world by providing opportunities for community involvement near and far.
