Dr. Duncan Stewart honoured for exceptional commitment to health research promotion

OTTAWA, May 11, 2011 — Dr. Duncan Stewart, professor of medicine at the University of Ottawa, CEO and scientific director of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and vice-president of research at The Ottawa Hospital, will receive the prestigious Biomedical Science Ambassador Award by Partners in Research in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the advancement of biomedical research understanding and support.

The award, which will be presented this Wednesday in Ottawa, underlines Dr. Stewart’s impressive record in helping educate the public—particularly youth— about health research through mentorship, teaching and seminars, as well as through media and government outreach.
