Destination 20/20: uOttawa launches promising vision and major unifying project

OTTAWA, October 20, 2011  —  Surrounded by students and other members of the campus community, Allan Rock, president of the University of Ottawa, will introduce the institution’s new strategic plan, Destination 20/20, and launch the Centre for Global and Community Engagement on October 21. Huguette Labelle, chancellor of the University, Alex Trebek, uOttawa alumnus and host of the popular game show Jeopardy, and Michaëlle Jean, UNESCO special envoy for Haiti, will also take part in the celebrations.

WHAT: Launch of Destination 20/20 and the Centre for Global and Community Engagement

WHEN: Friday, October 21, 2011, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Tabaret Hall, Room 112 (550 Cumberland, University of Ottawa)

This far-reaching vision will not only consolidate the University’s presence on the national and international scenes, but also contribute to our region’s social and economic development thanks to a number of large-scale projects to be announced over the coming months. The Centre for Global and Community Engagement is in fact the first major initiative launched as part of Destination 20/20.
