2011 Nobel Prize winner Jules Hoffmann to receive honorary doctorate
OTTAWA, October 20, 2011 — Nobel Laureate in Medicine Jules A. Hoffmann, was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa during a special ceremony at the Faculty of Medicine. After the ceremony, Dr Hoffmann delivered a presentation entitled “The Antimicrobial Host Defense of Drosophila: A Paradigm for Innate Immunity.”
Jules Hoffmann is based at the University of Strasbourg in France. He holds a PhD in natural science (1963) and was recently awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his accomplishments in immunology.
