Dr. Giles' research examines Aboriginal people's (though especially women's) participation in physical activity, sport, and recreation in the NWT, Nunavut, and Northern Alberta. Main research area is the Canadian fitness industry. Research focus on employee and membership satisfaction and retention. For-profit and not-for-profit fitness organizations, and work with the Canadian Fitness Professionals organization.
