Tyler Chamberlin conducts research into industrial innovation and its impacts on individual firms and the economy. He has investigated sector differences in the methods and impact of innovation in Canada and elsewhere with particular attention to issues of strategy and finance. He teaches courses on international business and multinational business strategy in the Telfer School of Management where he has taught since 2002 and his educational background is in Economics, Management and Public Policies.

My career has taken me from boardrooms to classrooms and from the Prime Minister's Office (1993-1997) to the Kennedy School at Harvard (Senior Fellow, Centre of Business and Government, 2002-2004).

I'm a lawyer who is comfortable discussing ethical challenges ( including whistleblowing) governance issues and public policy matters whether within government or the private sector. I'm currently examining the role and treatment of information in public policy and operations in criminal justice: statistics, databases, registries, administrative operational data, research results etc. This information arises and is used as evidence in investigations and decisions of a wide range of police, judicial and correctional institutions. I am particulary interested in the validity and reliability of information and of procedures for its use, as well as implications for rights to privacy.

Research information:

I am a political scientist who is interested in health politics and health policy. I have specific interests in how citizens can affect health policy issues. I am especially interested in illnesses that affect marginalized communities, such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. I am currently completing a SSHRC-funded project on “contested illnesses”, including autism and Multiple Chemical Sensiitivities. My non-health related interests include methods of citizen engagement and citizen participation, the role of the voluntary sector, and the influence of interest groups and social movements.
