Carpool Captains

Each group needs to choose a Carpool Captain. This person will be the group’s main administrative contact for the Parking and Sustainable Transportation office. The Captain will be the person contacted once your group’s eligibility has been confirmed.

The Carpool Captain is responsible for

  • Updating the Parking and Sustainable Transportation office with any changes to the group (e.g. changes in group members, additional vehicles)
  • Receiving and paying for  the Carpool Parking Permit
  • Displaying the Carpool Parking Permit
  • Collecting and paying the permit fees on behalf of the group
  • Immediately informing the Parking and Sustainable Transportation office if their Carpool Parking Permit has been lost or stolen
  • Equitably dividing the annual Carpool Parking Rebate among Group Members
  • Informing the Parking and Sustainable Transportation office of changes in Group members or the termination of the Carpool Group (i.e. the group no longer qualifies under the terms of the program – see checklist) and returning the Carpool Parking Permit within one month of dissolution of the group (see Policy 8)
