Endowed Funds
You can use many types of planned gifts outlined on this site to create a permanent endowed fund. The University invests the original gift, which remains intact. The interest is awarded annually and becomes a source of stable funding for the future.
An endowed fund is a meaningful way to create a memorial in your name or in the name of a loved one. You can use your endowed fund to support or establish the following initiatives:
- fund a particular area of research, a faculty, or special project
- establish a named scholarship fund to encourage academic excellence or accomplishment
- create a prize to recognize excellence at graduation in an area of interest to you
- provide a bursary or award to assist students with particular financial needs
You can establish an endowed fund in the following ways:
- cash donations
- securities donations
- making a bequest in your will
- donating the proceeds of a life insurance policy
- creating a charitable remainder trust
- a combination of the above options
