
- INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS -
INTERSCIENTIA will publish contributions in either English, French, Spanish or Portuguese in both the Natural and Human Sciences in their broadest definitions in the following categories.
FULL CONTRIBUTIONS. These contributions are expected to contain: a. A descriptive title. b. The names and affiliation of the contributing authors including their postal and/or electronic address. c. A short abstract (about 5-10 lines) english or spanish. d. The main text of the contribution. The text should be kept to about 5 screens given that longer reading is generally found difficult. e. References to the text. All statements made in the main text must be substantiated in the references (5-10) which are expected to be mainly those of previous work by the author(s) published in high quality journals. References must contain the names of authors, full title of the article and journal name, pages and year. Text and figures may be submitted in electronic form or by mail in any of the commonly used word processor/graphic formats. Submissions in diskettes are encouraged. Printed contributions are also accepted. Pictures will be scanned into a digital format and text will be processed by Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Material printed with dot matrix printers should be avoided unless the printout is of high quality and near-letter quality. The submitting authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce previously published material. Text styles and layout may be appear different from that submitted due to the restrictions imposed by the HyperText Markup Language (HTML).
CORRESPONDENCE. Letters by readers are welcome. Letters should not be more than 1-2 screens in length. They must contain the name, affiliation and postal or electronic address of the writer. Letters should be used to express opinions or report developments that do not merit a full contribution.
POST CARDS. In order to associate people with places, we will publish photographs of landscapes related to the readers or contributors. Submit an actual post card or an electronic image in any commonly used graphics format. Please provide a brief description of the landscape as well as your name, affiliations and postal or electronic address.
ANNOUNCEMENTS. Academic and artistic events (such as courses, meetings, concerts, etc.) will be publicized upon request provided that they are deemed of a non-profit, non-partisan nature. Provide the name, postal and electronic address of a contact person.
CLASSIFIEDS. Classified adds will accepted, free of charge, for academic opportunities such as doctoral or post-doctoral studies, scholarships, fellowships, exchange programs etc. A "Positions Wanted" is also available mainly for students.
GENERAL. Acceptability of submitted material: The Editorial Board of INTERSCIENTIA is the sole arbiter in judging acceptability of submissions. Nevertheless, the Board does not necessarily endorses nor guarantees the material it accepts for publication. Materials that do not adhere to recognized academic practice will be rejected. No appeal procedure is formally in place. No submitted material will be returned.
