Cancellation Policy

ORM reserves the right cancel a course if participant minimums are not met

To assist in accommodating as many participants as possible and to provide an interactive learning forum, kindly notify us at least 7 days in advance before the workshop if you are unable to attend. To cancel a registration, contact the main office line at extension 5892 or by e-mail at safety@uottawa.ca. You will receive confirmation of the cancellation, and will be advised of any cancellation fee (if applicable).

If you do not cancel your registration within the above-mentioned timelines (7 days), you will be charged for the full amount of the course, plus an administrative fee of the per participant cost (15%).

If you are registered for a course, however fail to show up and fail to follow cancellation procedures, you will be charged using the same guideline as above.

Why do we charge fees for late cancellations and no-shows?

Course planning, development, and scheduling require resources and commitment. Late cancellations and no-shows have a direct impact on the following areas:

  • Group dynamics and discussions are negatively affected by a reduced group size;
  • Fewer participants; cost per participant increases;
  • The reserved spot may be offered to another person on a waiting list
