Laser Safety Eyewear
The unprotected human eye is extremely sensitive to laser radiation and can be permanently damaged from direct or reflected beams. For this Laser safey eyewear (LSE) in the form of goggle, glasses, or shields must be worn at all times during laser operation to prevent ocular injury. LSE come in a variety of types, colours, styles and prices. It is important to use the LSE specifically designed for the characteristic of your laser. Check both the wavelength and OD imprinted on all LSE prior to laser use, especially in multi-wavelength facilities where more than one laser may be located in the same room. The integrity of LSE must be inspected regularly since small cracks or loose fitting filters may transmit laser light directly to the eye.
NOTE :
LSE are not created equally and the least expensive is not necessarily the best.
