PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Project Management sector uses both internal and external resources to conduct an array of projects in wich nature, technical complexity and financial scope vary tremendously. In performing its work, the sector must comply with the specifications and terms of reference that set out the extent, the deadlines and the budgets of the jobs described in design packages or project briefs; it must also structure this work around the University's strategic objectives while ensuring client satisfaction, minimizing service interruptions and providing risk management.
Specifically, the sector plans, directs and controls all project stages, such as , design management, acquisitions, implementation, operationalization and completion. It also obtains the required approvals when design packages or project briefs need to be changed, and submits monthly project progress reports.
On another front, the sector applies acquisition procedures for materials and services, including consultations and construction services, so that all projects run according to University standards and regulations. Thus, it seeks out the best proposals and manages contract changes. Finally, it oversees performance and results as projects unfold, especially in terms of deadlines and financial requirements. It also sets the standards on furniture, considering among other the ergonomics criterias.
The project-management team boast an array of specialists (architects, interior designers, project managers, design technologists and mechanical/electrical experts) with a wealth of expertise in construction renovation and refurbishing projects.
We manage all signage projects on campus (including that for emergency systems) and coordinate room numbering.
