MTCU's Survey of Graduates
The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) collects employment information about graduates of undergraduate programs through a survey annually conducted by all Ontario universities. The survey is administered, in collaboration with each institution, by the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC).
Data collected through this survey is primarily used for calculating employment rates six months and two years after graduation. These rates are published in our Performance Indicator page.
The same questionnaire has been used over the past number of years. Some details about survey implementation by cohort are provided below.
2004 Cohort
Over 5,000 alumni who obtained their undergraduate degree in 2004 were contacted between March 2007 and June 2007 to participate in this survey. The response rate was 24.2% for the University of Ottawa and 21.9% for all participating Ontario universities combined.
2003 Cohort
Over 4,500 Alumni who obtained their undergraduate degree in 2003 were contacted between November 2006 and February 2007 to participate in this survey. The response rate was 22.2% for the University of Ottawa and 23.2% for all participating Ontario universities combined.
2002 Cohort
Over 4,500 alumni who obtained their undergraduate degree in 2002 were contacted between December 2004 and January 2005 to participate in this survey. The response rate was 26.9% for the University of Ottawa and 23.8% for all participating Ontario universities combined.
2001 Cohort
Alumni who obtained their undergraduate degree in 2001 were contacted between December 2003 and March 2004 to participate in this survey. The response rate was 28.7% for the University of Ottawa and 28.7% for all participating Ontario universities combined.
