Managing your uOttawa card

Logging on to your account is the best way to add funds, check your account balance, view your transaction history and deactivate your uOttawa card if it's lost or stolen. If you prefer to deal with someone in person, you can also visit the uOttawa card office during business hours.

Two easily manageable accounts
There are two types of accounts; there is the flex account and the meal plans account including a flex portion. Through distinctive interfaces in your login page you can easily tell the difference between your flex account and your meal plans which include a portion flex. Indeed, under "add money" it is the amount of money to be directly deposited into your flex account and under "meal plan" it is the amount of money for meals and the portion available for purchases in flex dollars.

The tax exempt portion of your meal plan is meant for the purchase of meals. Meal plans 1, 2, 3 and 4 offer a base amount for HST-exempt meals (a tax savings of 13%). The flex portion of your meal plan and money available in your flex account is for items that are taxable and cannot be sold with your basic meal plan. This include items such as non-meal products (pop, juice, candy, gum, chocolate bars), books, print and photocopies or any item available for purchase with your uOttawa card that is not a meal. For more information check the FAQ- Meal Plans and About your Flex account.

Disputing charges
If you notice that one of your uOttawa card accounts has been charged for a transaction that you did not authorize, you must first try to settle the problem directly with the service provider. If you are not able to successfully resolve a purchase disagreement with a service provider and you wish to dispute the charge deducted from your uOttawa card account, you must notify the uOttawa card office in person within 30 calendar days of the date of the charge. You must provide the date, location and amount of the transaction, along with any other information that may help staff resolve your claim.

Note: Disputing a charge does not guarantee your account will be credited with the disputed amount. Each disputed charge is dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
