The uOttawa card is the key to your meal plan
Meal plans offer tax savings for students and the University must follow Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Meal plans are loaded directly onto your uOttawa card!
Mandatory meal plans

If you are a first-year student living at Stanton, Thompson, Marchand, Leblanc or 90 University, the Basic mandatory meal plan (non-refundable, non-transferable and non-interchangeable) will be applied directly to your residence fees. As of August 15, you may upgrade your meal plan by using one of the methods below:
- In person at the uOttawa Card Service
- Mail (certified cheque only)
If you are a first-year student living at the Friel residence, you are required to have a declining dining dollar meal plan. This plan is non-refundable and non-interchangeable; at the end of April, remaining funds will automatically be transferred to your Flex account. The cost of the meal plan fee will be included in your residence fees.
Commuter meal plans
Meal plans aren't just for students who live on campus: if you commute to campus on a daily basis, or even occasionally, there's an option for you. You can choose from any of the meal plans or block plans available.
