When you purchase a meal plan, funds are added directly onto your uOttawa card, which can be used as a debit card!
There are currently 23 dining locations that accept meal plans onc campus. Each plan offers a minimum amount for tax-exempt meals and a flex portion for all other purchases. Whether you live in residence or commute to campus, there’s a meal plan for you!

Benefits of your flex plan
- Flex funds can be used at all locations that accept the uOttawa card.
- In general, students spend approximately $500 in books every year. The uOttawa Bookstore accepts the uOttawa card and during peak periods, there’s an express lane for those using their uOttawa card.
- Most courses require students to purchase a course pack sold at the docUcentre. The uOttawa card is accepted as payment at the docUcentre, and during peak periods, there’s an express lane just for those using their uOttawa card.
- Flex funds automatically carry over from one year to the next and do not have an expiry date. As long as your uOttawa card is valid, you have access to your flex funds.
- There are no fees when using your uOttawa card.
