Zoom Writing Mornings

This is a drop-in activity from the comfort of your home or office that promotes accountability, as every individual commits to individual work for uninterrupted periods of 25 or 50 minutes, using the Pomodoro technique.

The online "room" is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Friday of the Winter 2023 term.  You can join for 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes according to your availability, though the full two-hour block is recommended.

What to expect?

  • Reading or writing in silence, with your camera on or off, knowing that others present have also accepted the challenge to focus solely on their intellectual duties for the allotted time
  • There will be a 5-minute pause between working sessions, when participants turn their cameras on and listen to one participant sharing a synthesis of their current work (micro knowledge mobilization strategy)

Note: Email and other forms of distraction are to be strictly avoided, to help break the habit of multitasking.

A simple yet effective approach to avoid procrastination and attain your research and writing goals!
