Although Pierre-Paul Noreau has only been president and editor-in-chief of Le Droit newspaper since July 2015, he has worked in newsrooms for the past forty years. He has spent most of his career with the Quebec City daily Le Soleil de Québec, where he was assistant editor and vice-president, news, from 2012 to 2015. As a member of the Soleil’s management team, he also worked as news desk editor, business page editor, news editor, director of public information and editorial director from 2000 to 2012.
His longest assignment as a journalist saw him cover Ottawa from 1986 to 1993 as a parliamentary correspondent during Brian Mulroney’s two terms as prime minister. Mr. Noreau graduated from Laval University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism.
He has often been called upon to provide insightful analyses and opinions of political events during his career. In addition to being a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Ottawa, Pierre-Paul Noreau serves on the board of the Institut du Savoir at Montfort Hospital and on the board of the Quebec Press Council.
