Welcome to 2022! I’m sure many of you have goals in mind to make this year better than ever. Below are some of the services uOttawa has to offer that could help you achieve your new year resolutions, and make the most of your university life!
The Career Corner
Looking to kick start your career, land that summer job or shape up your resume? The uOttawa Career corner is here to help you! Experienced career counsellors can help you and answer your questions in-person (UCU 216), or by email, chat or video call. You will also be able to explore what types of careers, jobs or volunteer opportunities that best fit your personality, interests, your chosen field of work and field of studies.
Staying fit, adding more movement to your day and exploring new fitness ventures can all be done with Campus Rec! uOttawa has a wide range of resources that are available to our students: weight rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, ice rink, and full sized football fields. Fitness activities and intramural leagues are open to students from different skill levels.
Although many of these services will be closed due to public health measures, they will be available once it is safe to do so! Register for upcoming classes today!
See the full list of available activities on the Gee-Gees website.
Looking to excel in your courses? We got you covered! uOttawa’s Academic advising services could provide you with guidance throughout your studies for a learning experience that is stimulating and enriching. The Academic GPS will connect you with the uOttawa learning community. Find events, learning opportunities, and tools to help you learn at your own pace or chat with a mentor.
Hoping to get involved on campus? Make sure you check out the large variety of on-campus clubs that uOttawa has to offer. With over 300 student clubs, whatever your interests are, you will most likely find a club full of students that are passionate about the same topic as you.
uOttawa also organizes hundreds of social-cultural activities ranging from game nights, scavenger hunts, drag events, food pop-ups and educational workshops. Browse the list of events on the Campus Activities Website. There are many virtual and outdoor events planned for the beginning of the winter semester.
Want to get on top of your budget and spending? uOttawa has prepared many financial planning resources to help students make educated financial decisions. There are also many financial planning related workshops hosted by uOttawa, its partners, and student organizations where you could learn from experts about wealth management tips and tricks. The RBC On Campus, located on the first floor of the UCU, can help with financial planning.
Last but not least, don’t forget to apply for uOttawa’s bursaries and scholarships. You might be one click away from getting thousands of dollars into your student account. Access the Online Scholarships and Bursaries tool through uOzone, and consult the list of scholarship on a frequent basis to meet the application deadlines.
Happy new year Gee-Gees! We hope you have the best year you could possibly have!
