The mission of the School of Epidemiology and Public Health is to contribute to health promotion and disease prevention and control, through research and training in epidemiology and related disciplines, and by offering expertise and advice to people and agencies in other fields who need such support.

Currently, the School consists of four main teaching programs.  With respect to graduate teaching: the School provides both a research-oriented Master's Program in Epidemiology in which students have the option of pursuing either a thesis-based program or a program comprising courses and a research paper and a research-oriented PhD in Epidemiology. In addition, the School participates in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical training through the Society, the Individual and Medicine component of the undergraduate medical curriculum and the Postgraduate Medical Residency Program in Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
