Canada and the United Nations Security Council

The University of Ottawa welcomes a dynamic and diverse roster of foreign policy experts from across the public service, academia, and the diplomatic community to engage in meaningful dialogue about possible priorities for Canada should it win a term on the United Nations Security Council.

Expert Roundtable: Canada and the United Nations Security Council
Tuesday, February 13, 2018
Desmarais Building, Camille Villeneuve Room (4th floor)

The roundtable focuses on three different topics: peace and security, human rights, and the environment. Participants are asked to contribute concrete suggestions and proposals, bearing in mind: the changing dynamics of the Security Council; areas in which there is a need and opportunity for Canadian action; and the specific strengths and assets that Canada can bring to bear.

  • The roundtable will be conducted under the Chatham House rule.
