About this event

A longstanding interest of both researchers and policymakers is the question of whether (and how) sponsorship may lead to better integration outcomes for refugees. While economic and employment outcomes are an important part of the picture, there is growing recognition of the need to consider social and health dimensions as well, and to critically examine the question of how (and by whom) successful integration is defined. The potential importance of contextual factors – such as pre-arrival experiences, host community characteristics, and program design settings – has also been highlighted. This workshop will examine the relationship between sponsorship and integration across this full spectrum, assessing the current state of the evidence and asking what comes next for research on sponsorship and integration.
