football players from the Gee-Gees and the Ravens on the field

By Dominic Boutin

The University of Ottawa will host the 47th edition of the famous Panda Game that pits our Gee-Gees against their cross-town rivals, the Carleton University Ravens. While the Garnet-and-Grey attempt to control the game and the field of play, you, dear fans, are invited to take over TD Place. Wear your best uOttawa gear and come cheer on your team on October 3, 2015, at 1 p.m.

The rivalry between these two university teams is one of the oldest in Canadian football, which often results in epic football games. Over the course of their 46 past match-ups against their Ottawa rivals, the Gee-Gees have managed to win the coveted trophy 32 times. The last the time Garnet-and-Grey won the honour of bringing home Pedro (the name of the panda to which the trophy refers) was in 2013. That year, the Gee-Gees dominated the Ravens, winning by a score of 35 to 10.

To make getting to the game that much easier, on October 3, OC Transpo will be offering free shuttle bus service to and from TD Place, picking up fans at the Laurier and Campus bus stops from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The shuttle service will also run for two hours after the game. For those who prefer to drive, keep in mind that you can expect to pay $12 for parking, which is limited at TD Place.

The pre-game and half-time shows will feature the Lionyls. Please note that bags are not permitted inside TD Place.

Tickets are still available on line. For more information, please visit the Gee-Gees website.
