After 72 hours of work in four days, a team of uOttawa engineering students won the Communications Award at the 2017 Shell Eco-marathon Americas challenge.

The annual challenge is an energy efficiency driving competition that took place in Detroit, Michigan from April 27-30, 2017.

The uOttawa team designed and built a fuel-efficient vehicle that was aerodynamic and had a perfected steering system. It was also able to complete four out of the required 10 laps in order to qualify for the internal combustion category.

See how the team prepared for this event.
