The Distinguished University Professor title is conferred on faculty members in recognition of exceptional scholarly achievement, pre-eminence in a particular field of knowledge and a solid teaching record.
The professors selected this year are the following:
Paul Corkum, full professor in the Department of Physics, is among the top one percent of most cited scientists in the world and a recipient of the prestigious King Faisal Prize for his foundational contributions to attosecond science.
France Martineau, full professor in the Département de français, is a world-renowned researcher in her field. A fellow of the Royal Society of Canada since 2011, she heads the Polyphonies laboratory, as well as the largest research project ever undertaken on the evolution of the French language in the Americas.
Donald McRae, full professor and holder of the Hyman Soloway Chair in Business and Trade Law at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, is one of Canada’s foremost international law scholars and was recently named a Companion of the Order of Canada.
