Orientation activities

Welcome to the Gee-Gees Family!

Take part in free Orientation activities and start your university life on the right foot!

Prepare for your first year of university and get answers to your questions while meeting your peers as well as other dedicated people who will guide, teach, and support you during your time at uOttawa!

If you’re new to the University of Ottawa, we encourage you to enjoy the activities we host that cater to new students. Each of these activities will help you learn more about the University of Ottawa, find useful resources and meet other students just like you!

Learn more about what to expect at the University of Ottawa by participating in diverse orientation activities. Meet campus experts and student guides who will walk you through everything you need to know before the academic year even begins.

Expect interactive activities that will introduce you to your faculty and student services, such as life in residence, the International Office, the Academic Support Unit, and much more!

Missed a virtual session or cannot attend? Don’t worry, the uOrientation programming will be recorded and made available to you later. That being said, we strongly encourage you to participate live whenever possible for a more interactive and rewarding experience!

All faculty sessions are offered in a bimodal format; you can choose to take part on campus or online. If you’re unable to make it to your faculty on-campus session, you can join it online by clicking on the Teams link from the activities calendar.  The links will be posted in the calendar one week prior to each event.
