Promoting community engagement and social responsibility: The Michaëlle Jean Centre for Global and Community Engagement gives students the opportunity to help others and, at the same time, apply what they have learned in the classroom.

Michaëlle Jean Centre for Global and Community Engagement is helping to ensure that uOttawa students can graduate with not only the education, but also the inspiration and the experience to turn ideals into action, to truly change the world around them. For 40% of students who volunteer through the Centre, it is their first formal volunteering experience. Often, it sparks the realization that they have a valuable contribution to make and inspires them to do more.

Our approach is good for students, but it also helps the community organizations we partner with here in Ottawa, across the country and around the world.

Donors like you have played an important role in our success, helping us create new scholarships and programs. Your support is needed to build on our success and fully realize the potential of the Centre.
